Thank you so much for your answer. I am going to try the fuzzy water and try to strengthen my LES because for sure that is the root of this problem. Actually I was considering or I am still considering surgery. I have tried already enzymes, probiotic, antacids , Licorice, slippery elm, soft diet, etc, it helps but things definitely come back. I have been so patient following things, I am so under weight that makes me feel so sad, trying not to stress out very much about it but is hard since my throat is like on fire all the time.

Diagnose acid reflux. The diagnosis of acid reflux, or GERD if the symptoms are more severe or have been longer term, depends on the symptoms you report. You will likely have an endoscopy, a test where a thin tube with a mini-camera on the end is fed into your esophagus. You may also have other imaging procedures like X-rays and tests to measure the acid levels in your esophagus. It is possible that you may be given an esophageal motility testing to measure and determine movement and pressure in your esophagus.

Hi Claire. I started to feel that lump in my throat also when our son and his family moved to our town. I explained it all in the previous message to you. It comes and goes. I think this is nerves for sure because I remember my parents, grandparents and old aunts and uncles talking about feeling a lump in your throat when you are under stress. Anything traumatic can cause that feeling. Not everyone would get that, it depends on your genetic make up. Also people who have a stomach sensitive to nervous tension also get heart burn, acid reflux, stomach pains etc. I had one aunt who was violently attacked as a teen and she was throwing up all her life, she had bouts of it every time something went wrong with her relationship or at work or with her parents. Stomach and digestion is very prone to react to stress.
